Phuket Island, Thailand: Hospital facilities upgraded to enhance diagnostic capabilities

The provincial government of Phuket approved a budget of 45.8 million Thai baht (approximately 9 million RMB) on September 26, 2025, for upgrading the three major hospitals on the island. This plan aims to increase the capacity and quality of local medical services and reduce patient referrals.

  1. Chalong Hospital: With an investment of 10 million Thai baht, the funds are mainly used for the development of new operating rooms and the installation of positive pressure control systems. This will provide sterile air control and modern equipment for surgical services, enhancing the local surgical capabilities.

  2. Patong Hospital: With an investment of 9.6 million Thai baht, it is used to expand the treatment capacity for patients with complex diseases. As a community hospital in a popular tourist area, its goal is to serve both residents and tourists simultaneously, thereby alleviating the pressure on the central hospital.

  3. Vachira Phuket Hospital: A total of 26.2 million Thai baht has been invested. This is the largest portion of the investment. The funds will be used to enhance the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation services and upgrade the operating rooms to support advanced treatments for blood cancers such as leukemia.

Singapore: Long-term Energy Efficiency Plan for Public Buildings

In March this year, the Singaporean government announced a five-year plan, in which approximately 300 million Singapore dollars (about 1.6 billion yuan) will be invested over the next five years to enhance the energy efficiency of public buildings, including hospitals and other public facilities.

  1. Policy Focus: This plan encourages the renovation of high-energy-consuming equipment or the installation of intelligent systems to enhance energy efficiency. A typical example is Chan Tsoi Sin Hospital, which has saved a significant amount of electricity annually through a heat recovery system.

  2. Reference value for you: Although this is not a new policy released last week, it reflects the long-term direction of the Singaporean government in the field of energy conservation in public buildings, providing a stable market expectation for related enterprises.

Regional Cooperation: Opportunities for "Artificial Intelligence +" Medical Cooperation between China and ASEAN

Last week, during a series of activities including the Fifth China-ASEAN Health Cooperation Forum held in Nanning, Guangxi, "Digital Technology Empowering Healthcare" became a core topic. This provided potential cooperation opportunities for technology companies like yours.

  1. Cooperation Consensus: Both China and ASEAN countries have expressed the need to leverage digital and intelligent technologies to enhance bilateral health cooperation. For instance, Brunei has applied AI to the screening of diabetic retinopathy, while Malaysia has utilized big data and AI to advance precision public health.

  2. Specific platform: During the conference, the "China-ASEAN Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry Alliance" was launched, and over 11 billion yuan worth of cooperation projects were signed. The aim was to establish a platform for cooperation between enterprises, medical institutions and pharmaceutical companies.
